Dieing to be noticed.

This gothic church is beautiful!

Suicide is not the way. He had lived his life to the fullest, basking in the sun and bathing in the waves. He had a good life. But when his colors changed and death was upon him; the change proved to be fatal. Here is the last pictures of our brave comrad Amenathos Eleotherios Kurippinka... he jumped to his death moments later. He will live the rest of his days near his rightful creator. He will be missed.

I like the focus of this image... it's also just a wild flower.

Can you believe it? This is "just" a weed which started to grow in the flower garden. For a weed, it sure is beautiful!

This tree reminds me of the ones I find at cemetaries. Too bad that I realize now that I should have tried to make this shot much much much more wider. oh well, it's a learning process.

Right outside my quarters, there's a tree which seems quite ancient. At the bottom of the tree, I found this beautiful formation - it's some type of mushroom slowly degrading the tree. it's beautiful - except that obvious trace of human intervention (the metal staple).

Another guessing game, what is this? I can't figure it out.

Really, just dangled twigs and such. I like the lighting effect that the water provides. I wish I had the talent to take pictures of water like this - so far I'm just guessing.

It's a wildflower I saw on the side of the northern lakeshore. I couldn't help but take a picture of it. It doesn't look like much in real life, but somehow in pictures the colors look much better. I think it's blue being juxtaposed with the green.

This image captures the essense of gothic cathedrals. I feel, also, that it captures the mindset of the people during that time period with specific representation coming from the monochrome nature of the photograph. What do you think?

What is this? This grows on my neighbor's tree. It's beautiful when seen with rain on it, ugly when it's dry. I first thought, 'it's a cherry.' Can it be a cherry?

A harbinger of the fall ahead. I'm not that excited this year.

Here's the picture that took a really steady hand - and a smooth drive. Just gives you the feeling of going into the future - then again, the picture was taken in a small micropolis.

It's strictly not an artistic photo. It just shows what comes out of watering plants the entire summer. Plus, there's much more to come now that more of these are maturing!

I agree, it's an old-journalist's trick. But although the trick is so so so old, the images produces are just so powerful. You can highlight the subject.

I'm still trying to find an image which shows nature juxtaposed with the man-made. But for right now, this is something I took a picture of today. Ever think of life after death; this is almost close. The exoskelaton of this small carbon based critter is all that remains - from this came a beautiful butterfly.

One of the few times I get to shoot amazing high aperture shots. f/29 - I blurred the back by the way. Take a guess on what this is... :-P

I took this image in Boston on a stormy day when all I could think about was trying to cover my camera equipment. I didn't think much of the scene until I saw it on the computer - it somehow catches the essense of life in downton Boston. I guess I see it that way. On a lighter--well not really--note, when I got done with this shot, two individuals came up to me in baggy and hooded clothing demanding I take pictures of them. Needless to say, I said, "I appreciate your offer, but I kindly decline." Of coures, they looked at me and strangely said "Thank you sir."

I got lucky when I took this image. The clouds started to move, the stars moved - a little, and finally a redeye flight by Northwest Airlines took off going towards Denver Colorado. Notice the straight line starting from the midpoint and going towards the left top. But also notice the purple at the left top; it's oversaturation as a result of a poorly placed digital sensor on the darn Nikon Camera!

Looks like three pretty kids. Although I much rather treat these flowers to a good golf club, I had to take pictures of them - the colors are too attractive.

Some love to fly solo - others prefer the company of a flock. How about you?

Although I look to the Earth for inspiration and new images, I find myself looking at the sky for about 40% of the time. It's an artwork that is constantly changing and is layered with layers of colors. The beauty and color are just inescapable!

I went on an excursion in a wooded area. I found the most interesting formations with trees and canopies. I need to post-process some of them as I shot all at ISO200 and the low light ruined some of my exposures. What do you think?!

I know that Boston is a very old city judging from the fact it has a graveyard in downtown. But this tree really represents Boston's history - deeply rooted.

I took this image when I was in Boston on the "Freedom Trail." Anyway, I took this image because it was not located at a large church - rather the church was the patio of a small house. It haunting!

This is one of my favorite images! These bird fly over my house all the time, but I didn't do much setup for this image. I just shot without much alteration and somehow this brilliant silhouette effect come out!

I have a feeling it's just me on this one. This picture doesn't have much artistic merit, but I took it because the flash worked so wonderfully to highlight the water dripping off. I should photoshop the image - blur hte background - extra effect that way.

Granted it's *just* a construction site. My attempt to fuse foreground and background together in one exposure was a failure. But the image gives you a feeling of transcending.... maybe a heavenly gate?

This is turning into a cloud blog, I can't help it. I think I'll try going a little less out in the evening time. I can't keep my eyes off the beautiful clouds! This formation almost seems like a bucket which is collecting the higher clouds. Again, this might be crazy.

I took this picture in hopes of capturing a 727 flying past the moon. That was my hope, didn't turn out that way. I was preoccupied by a bird so I missed hte plane go by the moon. But, if you notice, the picture gives me this feeling of optimism and pessimism. The bright white + blue being optimism with the dark grayish clouds undertaking the optimism. Maybe I'm pushing it.

When the sun is setting - the light passes through the layers of the atmosphere and paints the clouds in so many colors. See how the lower clouds are a different shade than the higher ones. The scene is indescribable - yet we all see it daily!

I shot this image without my polarizer, but the image still turned out nice. I'm just impressed I got such a nice closeup of this leaf when I was about 25 meters under it!

The scenic route to Sudbury in Canada is absolutely beautiful and unappreciated. But, the unnerving part of the entire drive are crazy truck drivers. This guy hadn't even tied most of the logs correctly and he was drunker than drunk!

I heard reports that there was a funnel cloud in the area - I've only seen one once in my entire life. I took my camera, followed the directions from the radar map and found this funnel whisping right by my home. It actually was twenty miles away, but still I could see it run from right to left. Good thing it didn't touch down to form a f1 tornado!

I was looking outside to see if it will be a cloudy day, or sunny day. Then I see this beautiful gift that nature put right outside my window! Brilliant! I had to wait until nighttime though - the background ruins the shot. I'll have to do some images from the otherside tomorrow night. I just love it. The line in the middle is overexposed - I'll fix that next shot. The line is a long line of bugs (mosquitos, smaller insects) which were caught up in the web and the spider (in the middle) has wrapped them up in silk. So basically, it's a food repository in the air.

The last severe thunderstorm to come by my home was quite severe. This lightning bolt hit about a mile away - the thunder that resulted set off car alarms and broke some windows in the area. I'm surprised my lens is still intact.

This image seems so fresh. I'm now paying closer attention to the pictures I took this summer. My area has recently been hit by a dry spell - with the occasional thunderstorm that tries its best to not give any rain. The picture has focus, but the leaf in front is annoying. I'll have to photoshop that out. :-P

This picture is a picture I took, planned to delete. When I processed it and downloaded it - it turned out to be a masterpiece! I love how the shadow adds to the moment. What do you think? It's nothing in comparison to yesterday's post, but still.
