I heard reports that there was a funnel cloud in the area - I've only seen one once in my entire life. I took my camera, followed the directions from the radar map and found this funnel whisping right by my home. It actually was twenty miles away, but still I could see it run from right to left. Good thing it didn't touch down to form a f1 tornado!

Another striking picture...do you do this professionally? If you don't perhaps you should consider it. You have a talent for photography.
Thanks Jane, I do not do this professionally - rather I just do it as a hobby. I try to do photography in my freetime to occupy my time and also allow me to appreciate the world around me. With my two eyes, I sometimes cannot appreciate the world. Through photography, I've found a new appreciation for this earth and the treasures it offers.
Subhan'allah... very well said.
Do you ever try to get your pictures published?
I've seen many opportunities to publish - it would be fun, but I'm not sure where to begin. I'll have to do some research. But as of yet, I'm trying to enjoy the summer and my hobby.
Yet another beauuutiful picture. Very scary too!
I am sure you could at least get that one published in a local newspaper! Personally, I tend to avoid things, such as tornados, that might kill me in a horrible and airborn fashion, but hey, nice photo!
Hey man :)
It's me, Annis. Anyhow, I didn't get a chance to email you yet.
Great picture though! I like all the stuff I've seen so far.
Mr. Shah Jahan you may want to delete the comments from the anonymous guy, I've been getting some of them too, I guess they're a form of blog spam.. I think some of them lead to viruses...
great pic, again!
When I was a child I remember standing on my front porch watching a particularly violent thunderstorm with my dad. Then suddenly there was a lot of loud noises and howling winds and a tornado touched down in the empty lot across the street. Absolutely freaky! I've never seen my father freak out like that before or since. But at least I can say I've been very (too) close to one.
I also lived through Hurricane Hugo decades ago. Hiding in a basement while I listened to the windows upstairs give out. Very scary.
Wonderful picture, you're lucky to shoot it. :)
