What's this guy thinking about? I wanted his permission to take this picture - apparently, he was concentrating on the lake. So I didn't bother him. Needless to say, after more htan 30 minutes of goofing around; on my way out, there he was. What a deep trance.

you have great photos on this site. my friend www.adnan76.com is also an avid photographer (and is also quite good at it). You should check it when you have some downtime!

Traveller - he probably was meditating. But for such a long time on two feet? Ouch! Why not sit down for a change?

www.adnan76.com is a wonderful site, I just checked it out. The guy really has some talent!!! I assume he lives in Saudi Arabia or something.

No- he's a desi-americano... lots of saudi pics because his wife and him recently went for hajj...from your English I take it you really aren't straight from Punjab... right?

Desi-Americano! That's just hilarious. I have quite a few jokes which poke fun at Indian/Pakistani-Americans. But then again, they are the ones who are slowly controlling America.

Straight from Punjab? Well, that's a complex question which lacks a simple answer. :-( To answer it simply as possible, I'm not straight from Punjab.

That's very cool.

Please be welcome at my new weblog (a.o. about philosophy) and leave a comment, if you like... thanks!

Hi,I am not a major in philosophy, almost graduated in another subject however. With my blog I want to test how comprehensible my writings are to 'the' people. With more comments, I can decide what to do (continue or not) and in which direction. So I am happy you replied. However, I did not understand this: 'relating to the latin about a manly trait' could you please explain? Thanks!

Speaking as an ignorant American, what is this Desi-Americano? It seems to be a term relating to some ethnic background meshed with American, but which one?

Ali said...

Jane, it is a term that relates to people who are from India/Pakistan. Dess (means village), a Desi is a villager. So desi-Americano is a villager from Pakistan or India coming to America.

There are countless humerous/crude/rude stereotypes associated with the word.

Ok, thanks for the information. So is the term "desi" offensive then, like a racial slur?

Aisha said...

no its not offensive at all...it just means "someone of india/pakistan origin". But it's a term that Pakistani/Indians use to describe fellow "desis" and not typically used outside of this community... But if I heard a non-desi using it, I doubt I'd be offended though calling me a "Paki" would offend me.

Wondreful photo... Gives a feeling of inner peace!

Do you offer bigger resolution versions of your photos?

Ali said...

I try to sell my images. So I offer larger prints for money. I'm a starving student - I need to get money somehow. :-P

Yes Ghiyasuddin, fair enough. :)
